Congregational Nurse
The Congregational Nurse is a currently licensed, registered nurse with a specialty in congregational nursing sanctioned by the American Nurses Association. The program integrates the expertise of a nurse with the spiritual foundation of Jewish tradition, providing effective support to Beth El members.
Integrating spirituality and health, our congregational nurse:
- Visits you in your home or health care facility, assessing your physical, emotional and spiritual needs
- Listens to you and your family with a confidential, nonjudgmental ear during times of change and transition
- Counsels you on working with physicians, family, and other health care professionals with the goal of continuity of care and best outcome
- Serves as a referral agent when outside services are needed
- Provides support for you if your family is out of town
- Supports family members as caregivers
- Updates Beth El clergy and Yad V’lev (Caring Committee) to strengthen the connection to your Beth El family
- Certified as an Advance Care Planning Facilitator who offers assistance with completion of healthcare directives
- Certified as a Pathways Renewing Life Facilitator who educates and supports others in living well under the circumstances of their lives
- Offers support group facilitation for caregivers, grief and loss
