The strength of our Beth El community shines brightest when we face challenges together. Over the past year, your support for our security initiatives has made a tangible difference in safeguarding our sacred spaces and the people who gather within them.
We’re grateful to share that your contributions to last year’s appeal allowed us to increase our security coverage and implement a new visitor management system, which has improved our ability to monitor and manage access to our facilities.
Unfortunately, antisemitism continues to rise in our society, and there have been increased incidents in our community, emphasizing the need for vigilant security in synagogues in particular. It’s more critical than ever to maintain and strengthen the resources needed to safeguard our community. To accomplish this, if all congregant households contribute $180, we can meet our financial goal for the current 2024-25 year.
Looking ahead, our plan is to integrate security funding into our annual giving program starting in the 2025-26 year. This transition will create a more sustainable approach to meeting our ongoing security needs. We’re asking for everyone’s support now to help us bridge to this new model and ensure there is no gap in our security coverage.
