Pre-K Goals
- Build friendships and work on conflict resolution
- Build self-esteem and confidence in the ability to stand up for what is right
- Learn about manners, health, and safety
- Foster imagination and creative thinking through dramatic and free-play
- Provide opportunities to build and practice life skills and independence
- Work on advanced gross motor and fine motor activities such as skipping, drawing, and cutting
- Extend understanding and knowledge of numerical and alphabet literacy and other foundational concepts
- Build upon knowledge of letter and sound relationships
- Listen to and discuss stories of greater complexity
- Increase and refine vocabulary and communication skills
- Engage in activities for early readers and writers
- Extend understanding of the basic history of the Jewish people and the foundation of Jewish law through the study of the Torah

Pre-K Enrichment Curriculum
Creative Arts
Children will explore various media and learn to express themselves artistically by learning about famous artists, musical styles, and dance.
Judaics
Children discuss tzedakah, mitzvot, gimilut chesed, and other Middot (Jewish values). They hear stories of the weekly Torah portions and make connections to their own lives. Songs, dances, and activities are used to foster a sense of spirituality and Jewish pride.
Language and Literacy
Children explore literature through the adventures of reading quality books and interactive activities. They will reinforce letter recognition and printing skills taught in the morning program.
Nature and Wellness
Children will explore the world around them, including our community garden, through hands-on experiences. They will learn to care for themselves in mind, body, and soul.
Science
Children will explore such topics as Nocturnal Critters, Anatomy, Simple Machines, Ocean Creatures, Reptiles and Amphibians, Ancient Egypt, Outer Space, and more. Children hear stories and watch videos about a topic, followed by experiments, crafts, or cooking.
