Lauren Brand – Specialist
Speech Therapist

My Background:
My name is Lauren Brand and I have been practicing as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for over 10 years. I was born and raised in Virginia Beach, Va. I graduated from Indiana University and received my Masters of Science degree from Nova Southeastern University in South Florida- where I lived for 8 years. I have worked in private practice, outpatients clinics, hospitals and in NICUs both locally and in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

A bit about me:
I grew up in a small community with a close family unit. I was taught at a young age that giving to others is important. With this, I learned empathy and began to see with a different lens the changes that I could make if I gave more time or more energy to something or someone. As a pediatric clinician and a mother of 2 young kids, I bring both professional and every day real life experience when interacting with my clients and their families.  In 2018, my daughter was born with a genetic disorder that now requires intervention from a team of varying disciplines including speech pathology. When I meet a family, regardless of why they are seeking intervention, we begin to build a team that will work together.

Why do I love teaching young children?
Children are the future. It is our responsibility to give them the tools to be independent beings and help them learn to accomplish everyday life skills. Teaching children requires patience, understanding and knowing that no two children are the same. Teaching young kids through play is the ultimate goal of pediatric early intervention. Providing them a language enriched environment through games, Play and kindness is what I enjoy most.
