Rachel "Chela" Geretz, April 28, 1937 - August 29, 2019.
Our beloved wife and mother, Rachel "Chela" (Lerner) Geretz passed away August 29, 2019 at the age of 82 in St. Louis Park, MN.
Born in Lima, Peru, she made aliyah to Netanya, Israel, in 1949, then immigrated to the US in 1959. She studied nursing and worked in the O.R. in Israel then Minnesota, and later became a Spanish interpreter and started her own successful interpreting business.
Preceded in death by parents, Dina & Eliezer Lerner, and sister and brother-in-law, Sara "Bubeleh" & Rabbi David Younger. Survived by dedicated husband of 58 years, Jack Geretz; loving children, Danny & Jennifer Geretz of New Jersey, Michelle & Jeff Livon and Rafi & Alla Geretz of Minnesota, and Aliza Geretz & Ben Mayer of Texas; grandchildren, Aviva & Matis Kleidman, Eliana Geretz, Joey, Zachary and Michael Kotzker and David Geretz, Eli, Josh and Ruby Livon, Anna & Dovid Stern, Talie, Sofie and Alex Geretz, and Dina Mayer; great-grandchildren, Reuven Stern and Erez Kleidman; siblings, Rosa & Walter Kepecs and Vladi & Clara Lerner; and numerous nieces and nephews.
