L’Chayim! Beth El has turned 100!  Celebrate a century of leadership, legacy and learning. A joyful weekend, for all ages, filled with community, music, Torah, food and more!

We can’t wait to celebrate with you! Whether you have been part of our community for generations or are new to our Beth El family, we invite you to mark this incredible milestone with us.
 

Friday, May 30

100 Shabbat Dinners
Bring our Beth El community into our homes as we look to celebrate Shabbat with 100 Shabbat dinners! Host or be hosted for a Shabbat dinner with Beth El friends and community. If you would like to learn more about how to get involved in our 100 Shabbat Dinner initiative, contact Dori Weinstein at dorible@hotmail.com 

 


Saturday, May 31

Centennial Shabbat Service
A morning to recognize 100 years of volunteer and professional leadership, followed by Kiddush lunch, Shabbat singing, and dedication of the choir loft to honor Bill Torodor for 65-plus years as choir director.

 

 


Sunday, June 1

10am-12pm: Mitzvah Mania
Tikkun Olam has always been one of the core values of Beth El, as we work together to better our world through acts of loving kindness. Help us give back to our community by participating in a variety of age appropriate hands-on Mitzvah projects for ages 0-100! Activities include packing kits of needed supplies, creating cards for Israeli soldiers, beautifying Beth El with outdoor focused green activities and more.

 

 

12:30pm: Historic Jewish North Side Tour
Take a tour of the historic Jewish North Side – the place where BETH EL started – with a docent from the Jewish Historical Society. Meet at the former Mikro Kodesh synagogue (1000 Oliver Avenue North) to take a walking tour of the historic Jewish North Side – the place where Beth El started – with a docent from the Jewish Historical Society.

5:30-8pm: L’Chayim!
A festive evening to honor Rabbi Davis’s 25th anniversary and Beth El’s 100 years of legacy through music, tributes and the unveiling of the Beth El History Exhibit! Food and drink following the program (ticket purchase is required for this joyful event).

8 – 9:30pm: Shavuot Keynote Speaker: TBA
Begin the Leyl Tikkun Shavuot (all night study) with a message of inspiration, followed by an elegant traditional dairy dessert reception.


All events on Shabbat and Sunday morning are free to attend and RSVPs requested. Tickets are required for the Sunday evening L’Chayim celebration.
