מוֹדֶה\מוֹדָה אֲנִי לְפָנֶיךָ מֶלֶךְ חַי וְקַיָּם, שֶׁהֶחֱזַרְתָּ בִּי נִשְׁמָתִי בְּחֶמְלָה רַבָּה אֱמוּנָתֶךָ
modeh/modah ani lefanekha melekh chai vekayam, shehechezarta bi nishmati b’chemla, raba emunatecha.

Grateful am I as I stand before You, Living Spirit of the World. And the soul You give me, Your great faith in me, may I be grateful. May I be good.

Breathing

אֱלֹהַי נְשָׁמָה שֶׁנָּתַֽתָּ בִּי טְהוֹרָה הִיא אַתָּה בְרָאתָהּ אַתָּה יְצַרְתָּהּ אַתָּה נְפַחְתָּהּ בִּי
elohai n’shama shenata bi t’hora hi. ata barata, ata yatzarta, v’ata napachta b’kirbi.

My God, the soul which You bestowed in me is pure. You created it. You formed it. You breathed it into me. (breathe deeply!)

Loving

הֲרֵנִי מְקַבֵּל\מְקַבֶּלֶת עָלַי אֶת מִצְוַת הַבּוֹרֵא וְאָהַבְתָּ לְרֵעֲךָ כָּמוֹךָ
hareini mekabel alai et mitzvat ha boreh v’ahavta l’rei acha kamocha

Here I am ready to accept the mitzvah of The Creator to love my neighbor as myself.

Learning

בָּרוּךְ אַתָּה ה׳ אֱלֹהֵינוּ מֶלֶך הָעוֹלָם אֲשֶׁר קִדְּשָנוּ בְּמִצְוֹתָיו וְצִוָּנוּ לַעֲסוֹק בְּדִבְרֵי תוֹרָה
barukh atah adonai eloheinu melekh ha’olam asher kid’shanu b’mitzvotav v’tzivanu la’asok b’divrei torah.

Blessed are You, God, Sovereign of the Universe, who has sanctified us with commandments and commanded us to engage in Torah. These are precepts, the fruits of which a person enjoys in this world, while the principal is preserved for the World-to-Come. They are: honoring father and mother, performing deeds of kindness, early attendance in the House of Study morning and evening, providing hospitality to guests, visiting the sick, participating in making a wedding, accompanying the dead to the grave, concentrating on the meaning of prayers, making peace between people and between spouses— and the study of Torah is equal to them all.
